Almost 2 months later...

... and we are still waiting to hear what the NFL/Goodell will do to the players named in the "bounty" mess.

Never in all my time as a Saints fan (30 years) have I experienced such emotional swings as I have since this whole fiasco began. And that's saying a lot.

Despite all the negative media and public outcry and hypocrisy, I am amazed at what Mickey Loomis has been able to accomplish thus far with the free agency and restructuring contracts to help with the cap space.

In a surrealistic way the team is going about with business as usual as much as it can against tremendous adversity. That makes me even more proud of the Saints organization and players.

If you had told me 2 months ago that we would lose Carl Nicks and then go out and get a very good replacement in Ben Grubbs, I would never have believed you. But, then again, I never would have imagined or believed the team would be going through this kind of adversity and raking over the coals, being portrayed as such dastardly, evil villains by so many.

It is unreal to me also that Steve Gleason would have his trust so badly abused by Pamphillon on top of everything through which he is going. That has to be one of the worst things to come out of this witch hunt. Shame on Pamphillon.

Today I am still numb from it all and I just want it to be done so that the team and we as fans can move forward as we all lick our collective wounds. Yeah, that's how I feel this morning. Wounded and stunned. And sick of the whole mess.

And disgusted at the injustice that Roger Goodell represents.

Even so, I look forward to the upcoming season because I know Drew will be signed eventually and I know this team will rise to the level of excellence of which we all know they are capable.

No White Flags.
