I just can't get into the offseason draft talk like some people who are really into it can. I don't watch anything but pro football. Just not into college football or any other sport for that matter. Not like pro football.
All this talk of CBA and negotiations is a downer. Will we have a 2011 season or will there be a lockout and will the players decertify the union? And if the worse case scenario happens and we have no football, what am I to do?
I don't know. Usually I have something positive to say but tonight I'm just bummed. Guess you could say I'm an offseason casualty. But never have I felt the void as I do this year. Maybe I'm having a Super Bowl hangover because my team wasn't there as I had hoped they would be?
I know... it's just a game. Yeah, and the Saints are just a team. No, wait. They're MY team. I am a bit fanatical, I'll grant you that, but dang. I hate this void.
Isn't it weird how the CBA negotiations are the biggest story going besides the draft, pro days, etc? And the reigning Super Bowl Champs haven't had much press to speak of since they won in February.
The Saints were all over the media after we won in 2009. I think it is because our team is by far more interesting than the Packers. No slam against them, but how much can you talk about cheese? Especially compared to New Orleans and her storied flair for world-renowned cuisine and a culture that sets her apart from pretty much any other city in the whole ding dang US of A!
Yeah, I guess there is some solace to the fact that my team, its city and its fans were, are and always will be the best story the Super Bowl has ever known. I feel better now!
